The market continues to grow! Blossom even

After a lot of response from Rotorua Mums wanting to have a market in Rotorua, we set out to get it done!

The market was held at Lynmore School - a fantastic venue!

We had a nice mix of mums from Tauranga and Rotorua come along. With a huge range of products and services to see.

I am so pleased that with each market, it is becoming more and more like the image I had when I first begin this mission (well, the second image, because the first one was of a few mums sharing their products at my house!!). The atmosphere is buzzing, everyone is really getting into the reason behind the creation of the market. It is not just another market with a load of stuff for sale, it is about people having the opportunity to promote their small businesses, and get known beyond friends, family and Facebook! And although I can't claim they'll be known worldwide (yet!!) it does mean that every person who visits their stall now knows about them. For each person spoken to, what the stall holders are selling becomes a little bit more known.

And it is so nice to see the support the stall holders have for each other. Before the markets open, and during quiet spots, I've seen them visiting each others stalls and buying things, or just finding out more. Some are even doing a sort of team up and promoting each other - beautiful!

I know I have bought a lot of brilliant products that I keep going back to, and have a few more products on my 'when I need that' list (birthday party supplies, other people's birthday presents.. you know the list I mean!)

And I know my girls are happy, after each market I go home with at least one thing for each of them!

The market continues to evolve from that first little idea I had. And although it will probably always be called Mums Market - I'm not denying non-mums from being stall holders. I want to help as many people who are starting, or have, their own little businesses get known. AND I like to see all these products myself!

There are big plans for the future. Hopefully the not too distant future, where I will be able to hand out contact sheets to attendees (and all the stall holders) so that if they are like me, when they wake up the next day, or the next week, and think 'I wish I'd bought that' they can easily find the seller and buy what they want. Because, as I've said, it's about creating customers and getting known!

It's a big job organising these, but I am enjoying it, and I've met some amazing mums/business owners so far.

Here's to the future of Mums Market!!

Hopefully Leah and I can get a heap of dates sorted for 2017, and book places early on!
