The Market is OVER (for the night!!)

A BIIIG thank you to everyone who came to the market, and a HUGE thank you to all my lovely stall holders.
I am beyond impressed with how the night went. Of course there are things I have learnt that I will change for next time. And I can't control the fact that there was a thunderstorm which then brought humidity, and started to cook a lot of the people in the hall. But apart from that, I definitely left the night with a smile on my face!
The set up was a bit of a rush, I didn't get around to doing everything I wanted to do, but the stall holders were patient and once they found their spots, just set about setting up and getting ready for the evening ahead. The fact that I wanted it to be a market place for many mums to promote their products and services, I only allocated small spaces for everyone, and it was a success. I had that hall PACKED with stalls. And once it was set up, and I had a moment to just stand and look, I was so impressed with what I had created.
I loved the fact that I had space for people to stand and hand out flyers/business cards. Not all mums make things. Many offer services that other mums would appreciate, and they need just as much of a chance to promote themselves.
I loved the fact that I had activities for mums to join, and for their kids to join in with. I would love more of these for the future. We don't wall want to just go and buy things, so it is nice to have a range of things!
And the products that were there for sale were beautiful! I didn't make it around to talk to everyone, but I did look at all the stalls, and I wished I had had more time to actually investigate them all!
The feedback I recieved after the night made me smile. Mums were so grateful to have been given a chance to promote themselves. Even if they had only made one sale, they knew they had given out a lot of business cards, and that there were a lot more people now aware of them and their business - and that was my goal!
The raffles went well, and all the winners were stoked with their prizes - I'm thinking of different ways to do this next time to get maximum advertising for the businesses who donated products for it.
If I am thinking BIG about the future, I would love to have it like the parent and child show - and other expos, and give out bags filled with brochures and flyers and business cards, with a map of the hall, and stallholder information to everyone who comes through the door - however, I think that might be a little bit away!
Pack up was a huge success - I saw some people packing up and I checked the time, and couldn't believe that the time had flown, and it was 9.30! The hall was pretty much clear by 10, and my helpers and I did the final clean up. I had actually thought clean up would take far longer! But now I know I can allocate more time to set up, and less to clean up!
And although I now need sleep, and a bit of rest before the next one, plans are underway! I know that if I start planning for it now, and getting a place sorted for the next one ASAP, there will be less stress for me, because I will have more time to get back to everyone, and I won't need to do it all in just a couple of weeks!
Thank you again to everyone involved - I litererally couldn't have done it without you! LITERALLY!
